Live SET (Sound Engineering for Teens)

Ages 13-18
  • Winter 2018 Live SET (Sound Engineering for Teens)

Learn the art and science of sound engineering with top professionals in the field! Over the course of nine Wednesday evenings, local engineer Nalin Silva and peers will teach students about how to manipulate sound and why these sound systems work the way they do.

Students will have hands-on practice connecting PA systems, running a mixing board, and setting up a stage for a performance. This class culminates with a live performance by local professional musicians, fully mixed by course students, in Youth Music Project’s Meteor Lounge.

This is a one-of-a-kind chance for young musicians, music fans, engineers, technical artists, and creative types of all kinds to learn a valuable, interesting, and employable skill — how to make live music and amplified audio sound its best in performance settings.

    Classes: Every Wednesday, January 10 – March 7, 3:45 – 6:15 p.m.

    Showcase: Friday, March 16, 6 – 9:30 p.m.
