Music is powerful in mysterious ways. It’s magical ability to captivate the body, illuminate the mind, inspire the spirit, and move and bring people together in ways nothing else does has profound impacts on musician, listener, and the community at large.
Every week at Youth Music Project the power of music sings for hundreds and hundreds of kids in our community. In 2020 over 1,000 kids joined our welcoming, fun, and supportive musical community that they can call their own. Here they are encouraged and supported to take risks, make mistakes, experience success, gain confidence, and learn and grow through exploring music to their hearts content. Best yet, In 2020, 42% of enrollments were supported through our tuition assistance fund, ensuring ALL kids have the power of music in their lives.

Tuition Assistance Fund
Your generosity makes it possible for us to provide tuition assistance to hundreds of children annually. Your gift to this fund is an expression of your dedication to our founding belief: every child deserves music education. Any student whose family qualifies to receive free or reduced lunch is eligible to attend Youth Music Project tuition free. In 2020, 1,014 non-duplicated students participated in our programs, accounting for 1,953 total enrollments. 816 (42%) of these enrollments were made possible via our tuition assistance fund. Join us, in giving young people the musical wings that will allow them to soar! -
Instrument Fund
Instruments are essential to music education. Our collection is well-cared for, but when hundreds of little hands use them day after day, wear and tear is inevitable. Your gift to this fund puts instruments into kids’ hands and brings music into their homes. In addition, your gift will support our instrument rental program. This program is available to all families, but for those families who cannot afford to buy an instrument, prohibitively expensive. Our instrument rental program removes this barrier by providing free instrument rental to any student whose family qualifies to receive free or reduced lunch. -
Area of Greatest Need
Your gift to the annual fund allows us to invest your dollars where they’re needed most. Your gift could help pay for a child’s first music lesson, teen open mic night, or our annual concert series. It could even help pay the electric bill, which might not sound glamorous, but it’s tough to play the electric guitar without electricity! With your support, thousands of young people will receive outstanding music education at Youth Music Project.

Oregon BottleDrop
Oregon Bottle Drop makes it super easy to return bottles and cans AND support your favorite non-profit in three easy steps. 1) Contact the front desk to pick up prelabeled blue bags. 2) Fill with OR deposit containers – plastic, aluminum and glass all go in the same bag. 3) Return blue bags to any BottleDrop location, the label on the blue bag will open the secure door drop. The bags are counted and credited directly into our fundraising BottleDrop account! Learn more
