Christopher Madden

Chris Madden joined the Youth Music Project board in 2026 and is excited for the meaningful opportunity to give back to his community. He has seen firsthand the confidence, discipline, and sense of belonging that performance and music education can foster in young people and believes YMP plays a unique role in helping kids grow both as musicians and as individuals. 

Chris is a public affairs and government relations professional with more than a decade of experience working across the nonprofit, corporate, trade association, and government sectors. He specializes in legislative and regulatory affairs, community engagement, coalition building, and strategic advocacy. Throughout his career, he has worked with elected officials, regulators, community leaders, and industry partners to advance complex public policy initiatives. His experience spans healthcare, aging services, telecommunications, infrastructure, and economic development. He is a native of Portland, a graduate of the University of Oregon, and loves the access to the outdoors that our region offers.
