Piano, VocalsHello! I am Dario Dodge, a singer, guitarist, bassist, and piano player from right here in Portland!
I fell in love with music at an early age and found very quickly that no matter what I do I want to be around music in some form. I started singing in my school’s advanced choir in middle school and followed that path all the way through college. Music always felt like a safe place or an escape where I didn’t have to worry about anything. While I have always loved singing, I also wanted to learn an instrument which lead to me becoming a student here at Youth Music Project for years! Even when I was having a bad day this place always felt inviting and comforting, and that is the environment I want to create and share with every student that comes through the doors here at Youth Music Project.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I like to tailor our materials to what my students are interested in. I believe people will learn easier and quicker if we can have fun along the way!How long have you been teaching music? At Youth Music Project?
While I have taught summer camps and after school programs for four years, this is my first experience with teaching music.What is your favorite thing about teaching music?
My favorite things about teaching are the “aha!” moments. You will be working on something difficult or just out of reach for a student, and suddenly everything just clicks into place!What do you expect of your students in classes/lessons?
I expect my students to show up everyday and give their best effort towards learning and growing.
